ANTI-WRINKLE

FROM £215

With so much choice out there, Dr Zain Haider only uses the premium brand of botulinum toxin (BOTOX). If you want to reduce the lines on your face without having to resort to surgical procedures, the good news is that facial rejuvenation techniques can soften wrinkles for a more youthful appearance.

The benefit of having this treatment done by doctors is that they have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the facial anatomy and can perform this delicate work in a precise manner. Once injected into the skin, the botulinum toxin relaxes the tiny facial muscles, which cause expression lines, by blocking the nerve impulses in them, leaving the skin looking smoother. Areas on the face that can be treated include frown lines (vertical lines which form between the eyebrows), eyebrows, crows' feet, forehead lines and lines around the mouth and top lip, known as 'smoker's lines'.

The botulinum injection is quick and relatively painless; usually lasting around 5-10 minutes and requires no antiseptic. Results will usually be seen in a few days, sometimes taking between 4-7 days for the effects to be seen. As it's not a permanent treatment, the effects will wear off over time, so it's recommended that the procedure is repeated every 3 months for effective results.

FILLER

FROM £345

If you are looking for a non- surgical face lift or you just want to smooth out a few fine lines or fill in deep set wrinkles, injectables are for you. Millions of people use dermal fillers to achieve a more relaxed and smooth facial appearance while still having the freedom of expression. As skin ages, it begins to lose collagen filled with hyaluronic acid (HA). Collagen and HA add structure and volume to the face, therefore a lack of HA causes the skin to sag and wrinkle - that's where dermal fillers come into play. Dermal fillers are smooth injectable gels made from naturally occurring hyaluronic acid.

Dermal fillers add volume to weakened facial features and can stimulate collagen growth. Each dermal filler is unique in its own way but similar in two. First, they plump skin and gently lift it to restore collagen loss due to the normal aging process. Secondly, dermal fillers motivate the body to create its own natural collagen and restore your face to a more natural, youthful appearance. Dermal fillers approved by the FDA are minimally invasive and very safe.

As with any procedure, there are possible risks, the most common being post-procedure bruising and swelling which are usually very minimal and resolve quickly. Dermal filler treatments typically take 20-40 minutes and the amount of dermal filler needed will depend on volume loss and the areas you would like to restore to its natural beauty. You will see results immediately after treatment.

VITAMIN B12 BOOST

FROM £50

A lack of vitamin B12 could sometimes cause anaemia. Sometimes, your body is unable to absorb vitamin B12; this is called pernicious anaemia. In the UK, this is the most common reason for a vitamin B12 deficiency. Other causes could be related to your diet (for example if you are vegan or vegetarian) and your lifestyle (alcohol consumption has been linked to B12 deficiency).

Some of the main symptoms are feeling tired, lack of energy, breathlessness, feeling faint, headaches.

An effective vitamin B12-deficiency treatment could involve regular vitamin B12 injections. These could last for 3–6 months. After an initial consultation Dr Zain Haider can advise a course of treatment.
